I build the tools that let other people stop writing machine code. Most of my career has been spent arguing that a computer can translate human-readable instructions on our behalf, and then shipping the compiler that proves it.

I am happiest reviewing someone else’s design document, and I would rather ask a blunt question early than discover the answer during a release. It is easier to apologize than to get permission, but it is easier still to write the test first.
